Clauses 1.13 – 1.16 – Employ skilled Trainers and assessors of the Standards for RTOs 2015 require Registered Training Organisations to demonstrate that their trainers and assessors hold the formal training and assessment qualifications required to deliver and assess the training services, as well as hold the skills, competencies and professional development in VET and their area of training.

It is essential that trainers and assessors in the VET sector have opportunities to develop and maintain their technical competences, pedagogical skills as well as transversal competences (e.g. digital, intercultural communication) to the highest standards in order to fulfil the requirement of upholding the reputation of education in Australia.
