Essential Workplace Requirements

On the surface, these sound like Employability Skills Training, however, these are more specific workplace skills essential to requirements of a Unit of Competency.

Each of these skills are tailored to specific Units of Competency a Trainer / Assessor is delivering and assessing in the Vocational Education and Training sector.

The Units of Competency are analysed using the unit’s Performance Criteria, Performance Evidence and Foundation Skills to determine the essential workplace skill required to effectively apply the knowledge and skills gained from learning the Unit of Competency. For example, a Unit of Competency may require the learner to develop a Business Plan, an essential skill to do so might be to be able to produce a professional document suitable for use in the workplace. A short course in Microsoft Word might be well aligned with such a requirement.
