An overview in light of recent training package updates
In 2012, the Australian Government introduced the National Foundation Skills Strategy for Adults, a program focussed on developing Foundation Skills. This program was developed following the results of a literacy and numeracy survey conducted in 2011-12, in which Australia scored average and below-average results in comparison to other countries.
Essential to the success of the National Foundation Skills Strategy for Adults is the development of training and education professionals who understand the importance of Foundation Skills for their students and who can effectively integrate them into their training and assessment practices.
