This workshop is a part of a series of workshops titled “Compliant Trainers and Assessors.”

This workshop provides the opportunity for the RTO to develop a consistent and planned approach to systematic marking of assessments across all of the training products on its scope of registration. This will include specific approaches ensure assessors are aware of their obligations under Standard 1 of The Standards for RTO’s 2015.

These obligations will be addressed through a thorough understanding of the Principles of Assessment as well as the Rules of Evidence in light of recent ASQA audits.

  • Understanding the Principles of Assessment
  • Understanding the Rules of Evidence
  • Implementing The Principles of Assessment
  • Implementing the Rules of Evidence.

    Marking of assessments is an integral part of sound assessment processes and safeguards the integrity of the RTO's academic systems integrity. This session will highlight important background information to demonstrate the importance of assessment marking and the impact this has on the RTO, assessors, students and the industry the students are being prepared for.

    A practical approach to the Principles of Assessment and the Rules of Evidence from ASQA's perspective.

    The Implementation
    Reading and understanding the Principles of Assessment and Rules of Evidence is one thing, however, implementing them is another concept all together. Inn this session, discussion will centre around applying the Principles of Assessment and Rules of Evidence when marking student submissions.
